Hundertwasser Te Kakano

Te Kakano sculpture

Northland Metal Industries played a crucial role in the creation of Te Kakano, a key component of the Hundertwasser Art Centre project in Whangarei.

Te Kakano, a distinctive koru-shaped sculpture, served as a preliminary step towards the larger vision of the Art Centre, allowing local artisans and builders to fine-tune their skills in the unique architectural style of Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

NMI’s expertise was integral to fabricating the metalworks for this project, contributing to both the structural and aesthetic elements of the sculpture. This involvement not only highlights NMI’s craftsmanship but also its capacity to engage in complex and culturally significant projects. This venture set the stage for the Hundertwasser Art Centre, promising to make Whangarei a hub for major art attractions.
