Swing Gate Motors

Swing gate automation can be customized to fit a variety of needs and gate designs, typically relying on one of four main motor types:

1. Articulating arm
2. Linear arm or screw drive
3. Hydraulic motors.

Articulating arm motors are ideal for gates mounted on wide pillars. The motor uses a hinged mechanical arm to push or pull the gate open and closed, making it a robust option for heavier gates. This setup is particularly effective for properties with limited space around the gate, as the flexible arm accommodates installations where other motor types might struggle. Linear Arm motors (also called screw drive motors) use a rotating screw mechanism to move the gate. Sliding Gate Motors

Rack and pinion motors are the standard for most sliding gates, offering smooth and quiet operation. In this system, a toothed rack is installed along the length of the gate, and a motorized pinion gear drives the gate open or closed.

For standard sliding gates, this rack runs along a track embedded in the driveway, ensuring stable movement. For cantilevered gates, the same rack and pinion system is used, but the gate is suspended on a cantilevered track, supported by rollers, eliminating the need for a track on the ground, which is ideal for uneven terrain or areas where debris might accumulate​.
