Gate Motors

We offer a range of automation options tailored to different types of gates, ensuring smooth operation and easy access at the push of a button. Whether you need automation for a swing gate, sliding gate, or something more custom, we have the expertise to match the right system to your needs.

All of our automation systems can be customized, from choosing between mains or solar power, to integrating your gates with smart technology like remote controls, keypads, and smartphone apps.

Swing Gate Motors

Swing gate automation can be customized to fit a variety of needs and gate designs, typically relying on one of four main motor types:

  1. Articulating arm
  2. Linear arm or screw drive
  3. Hydraulic motors.
  4. In-ground motors

Articulating arm swing motor

Articulating arm motors are ideal for gates mounted on wide pillars. The motor uses a hinged mechanical arm to push or pull the gate open and closed, making it a robust option for heavier gates. This setup is particularly effective for properties with limited space around the gate, as the flexible arm accommodates installations where other motor types might struggle. It’s a powerful and reliable choice for larger gates.

Linear Arm motors (also called screw drive motors) use a rotating screw mechanism to move the gate. These motors are compact, mounted directly to the gate post and gate panel, and don’t require much space. They’re an affordable and low-profile option, ideal for narrow driveways, making them a popular choice for residential gates. While not as strong as some alternatives, screw drives are reliable for most standard gate setups

Hydraulic arm motors are the go-to option for heavier, high-traffic gates, often found in commercial or industrial settings. In terms of looks, they’re nearly identical to linear arm motors. The difference being that hydraulic motors use hydraulic power to smoothly open and close gates, providing a high level of force and durability. Hydraulic systems are incredibly robust and can handle continuous operation, making them ideal for gates that see frequent use. They also offer smooth and quiet motion, adding a touch of sophistication to your gate’s operation. Despite their strength, hydraulic systems are reliable and require minimal maintenance.

In-ground motors are buried beneath the gate, keeping the mechanism out of sight for a seamless and unobtrusive look. These motors offer a clean aesthetic and are often chosen for properties where design and discretion are a priority. However, installation involves additional groundwork, making them more expensive and better suited for lighter gates.

Each of these motor types can be powered by mains electricity or solar energy, allowing you to tailor your gate automation system to the specific needs of your property.

Sliding Gate Motors

Sliding gate automation offers a reliable and efficient solution for properties with limited space for gate to swing open and shut or challenging terrain. We primarily use rack and pinion motors, which work for both standard tracked and cantilevered gate systems.

Rack and pinion motors are the standard for most sliding gates, offering smooth and quiet operation. In this system, a toothed rack is installed along the length of the gate, and a motorized pinion gear drives the gate open or closed.

For standard sliding gates, this rack runs along a track embedded in the driveway, ensuring stable movement. For cantilevered gates, the same rack and pinion system is used, but the gate is suspended on a cantilevered track, supported by rollers, eliminating the need for a track on the ground, which is ideal for uneven terrain or areas where debris might accumulate.

Both options are highly durable and provide reliable automation for residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Whether your gate runs on a track or operates as a cantilever, sliding gate motors offer a streamlined solution that can be customized to fit your specific needs

Access Control Options

At NMI, we offer a range of access control solutions to enhance the security and convenience of your automated gate system. Whether you need simple remote control access or more advanced options like app integration, we have a solution tailored to your needs. Here are some of the most common options we offer clients:

Remote Controls

The most straightforward and popular option, remote controls allow you to open and close your gate with the push of a button. These are perfect for residential properties or businesses where ease of access is key. Our remotes are compact, reliable, and can be paired with multiple gates or access points for added convenience. You can choose to have as many remotes as you like.

Swipe Cards

For more controlled access, swipe cards are a secure solution often used in commercial or industrial settings as well as in places like retirement villages. Each user has a unique card, which can be easily added or removed from the system, making it ideal for managing employee or resident access. While slightly more expensive to initially set up, cards are more cost effective than remotes in the long run, especially if you need a lot of them.

GSM Module with App Control

For cutting-edge convenience, our GSM modules allow you to control your gate remotely via a smartphone app. Whether you’re at home, at work, or even overseas, you can open or close your gate with just a tap. The app also offers additional features, like sending access codes to visitors or checking the gate’s status in real-time, making it an excellent option for both residential and commercial properties.

Auto Exit Loops

Auto exit loops are a hands-free way to ensure that your gate opens automatically as you approach from the inside. Installed beneath the driveway, these sensors detect the presence of vehicles and trigger the gate to open without needing to press a button. They’re perfect for busy properties where smooth traffic flow is essential, such as warehouses or large residential complexes.

Keypads

For secure, PIN-protected access, we offer keypads that can be installed at your gate’s entry and exit points. These are ideal for both homes and businesses that require controlled, coded access. Codes can be easily changed, and temporary codes can be issued to visitors or contractors for added flexibility.

Keypads can be installed on stand alone posts, or simply mounted to the gate posts if space is a concern. Keypads can also be hardwired to completely wireless.

Push Button Exits

Push button exits are a simple yet effective solution, often installed at the gate’s exit point. With a press of the button, the gate will open to allow a quick and convenient exit. This option is ideal for situations where internal access is needed without requiring a full access control system.

Intercom Systems

An intercom system, either audio-only or video-enabled, allows for secure communication between visitors and the property owner or staff. This is perfect for properties where gate access needs to be verified before granting entry. Video intercoms add an extra layer of security by allowing users to see who’s at the gate before allowing them in.

Each of these access control systems can be fully integrated with your automated gate to provide the perfect balance of security and convenience for your property.
