Bream Bay Retirement Village

Bream Bay Retirement Village – Ruakaka

At Bream Bay Village, we installed a comprehensive automated gate system to improve security and convenience for the retirement community. The initial installation included an entry swing gate and an exit swing gate, along with a pedestrian gate featuring a mechanical lock. As the village expanded, we returned to add a sliding gate on the east side, all controlled by the same remotes for seamless operation.

Key elements installed included:

  • Entry swing gate
  • Exit swing gate
  • Pedestrian gate with mechanical coded lock for easy access
  • Sliding gate (added later)
  • Battery backup for emergency access
  • Automation features:
    • Exit loops
    • Entry keypads
    • Timers for automatic opening and closing
    • Remote controls for all residents

The swing gates, fabricated from steel, then hot dip galvanized and  and coated with a two-pot epoxy paint system, required a strong hidden post and hinge system due to their weight. Ruakaka’s windy conditions led us to install magnetic locks to secure the gates when open. Additionally, a battery backup system was essential for emergency services access during power failures.

The client was highly satisfied with the project, especially appreciating the ease of using the same remotes for all gates, which enhanced the residents’ convenience and safety. The project’s success reflects our commitment to providing reliable and user-friendly gate automation systems tailored to client needs.
